ABOUT

I am overjoyed every time I can use my hands for work or for grasping something from among things that surround me. At that very moment, the hand has the power to attempt at transforming into a picture a new (as well as an old) image, idea, feeling. The hand has the power to enrich us through exploring the mystery of new experiences with materials, tools, colours, lines, shapes in the same way as it has the power to recollect the past ones... Just like a pianist: the work performed or created by hands synchronizes the head with the heart.

I think that all human visual worlds repeatedly create a special bond between the known and the unique thus always celebrating life even in its imperfect form. Once these worlds are clear and legible, next time they are just worlds of pure joy of materia, traces, colours, lines and shapes ... Or, they remind us of something, they hide or reveal something.

I am a curious person: any time I embark on exploring new horizons, I experience a truly wonderful adventure. In my visual world, I also like to "experiment" and "play with" reality. I recycle objects I find around me even those that may seem useless at first sight. I take delight in trying to find and attribute a new, different meaning and purpose to reality, materials, tools different from the way they are all seen and perceived and, subsequently, to images. Most often, I work with everything which attracts my attention and is captured by my eyes in the flow of everydayness: traces that become embedded in my mind and unexpectedly change the mundane reality. The traces can, among others, be textural, structural, coloured, defined by shape, or compositional. I also insert into a new picture my own pictures and materials used materials of varying quality and purpose. I rather tend to techniques which are flexible and allow experimenting as much as possible. These include collage and decollage, encaustic, various paper techniques (frottage, reservage, marbling, work with starch and structuring, cutting and scraping) as well as their combinations.
